Richard D. Holmes, Sr., was born the sixth child to the late Rev. Aaron J. Holmes and Ruby Holmes of Chicago, Illinois. On July 7, 1984, Richard married his sweetheart, Lydecia.
Richard became the Pastor of Morning View Baptist Church in July 1990. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, he later changed the name of the church Morning View Word Church.
In 2004, Pastor Holmes was awarded his Doctorate Degree of Divinity from GMOR Theological Institute of America.
Dr. Holmes travels across the country where he preaches and teaches the word of God in a simple and understandable way. His assignment is to build competent viewers and doers of God’s word, a people of victory and success. His latest book release entitled, “Enjoying the Receiving Process”, is requested across the country.
He is the founder of RDH School of Ministry and a men’s group called Mighty Men of Victory where he teaches men their purpose in life.
Dr. Holmes along with his wife has a special anointing to minister to married couples across the world. He believes that family is the foundation of the church. He gives all glory and honor to God for 4 wonderful sons, two daughters-in-law and 6 amazing grandchildren.
Lydecia A Holmes was born the sixth child to the late Rev. August Brown and Ethel M. Brown of Chicago, IL. On July 7, 1984, Lydecia married Richard D. Holmes, Sr. She partners with her husband (Pastor) in ministry at Morning View Word Church in Chicago, Illinois. In 2004, Lydecia was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity from GMOR Theological Institute of America. Dr. Holmes is the author of several books entitled, “Biblical Confessions Over My Life”, Am I A Chosen Vessel, and Faith Notes. These books have blessed many people across the nation. She also is a play writer. She’s written plays such as, Up, Up and Away, I’ve been Delivered, A Chosen Vessel and her most recent play, PASTORS’ WIVES. She is currently working on her first movie.
Dr. Holmes has a special anointing to minister to women. She is the founder of “The Lord’s Lovely Ladies Women Ministry (LLL) which ministers to women across the nation.
Dr. Holmes gives all glory and honor to God for the wonderful man in her life, Dr. Richard D. Holmes, Sr., her husband, mentor and friend. They have four wonderful sons, 2 daughters-in-law and six grandchildren whom she loves very much.
Assistant Pastor Richard Holmes (known as AP) is a devoted servant of God, with a passion for kingdom business and helping others live according to God’s plan. Born to the esteemed Drs. Richard and Lydecia Holmes, he was raised in a household that instilled in him the values of faith, integrity, and service.
With a loving wife and a son, AP understands the importance of family and the role it plays in nurturing a strong spiritual foundation. As an entrepreneur and business owner, he has experienced firsthand the challenges and triumphs of navigating the corporate world. However, it was his unwavering faith and desire to make a difference that led him to pursue a higher calling.
After graduating from Olivet Nazarene University with a degree in Business Management, AP felt a deep calling to use his skills and knowledge to help others develop their own personal relationship with God. Recognizing the power of praise and worship, he became a dedicated praise and worship leader, using his musical talents to create an atmosphere of reverence and connection during church services.
AP firmly believes that every individual has the potential to experience a transformative relationship with God. Through his teachings and guidance, he strives to empower people to discover their purpose, embrace their unique gifts, and live a life that aligns with God’s divine plan.
